Governance

Strong governance helps our schools thrive and ensures that every child receives the best possible education. Our Trust’s governance is built around three key groups who work together to provide clear direction, oversight, and local insight.

Members

Members act as the guardians of the Trust’s vision and values. They have a small number of important legal responsibilities, such as appointing Trustees, approving changes to the Trust’s constitution, and ensuring the Trust remains true to its charitable purpose. Members do not run schools day to day, but they provide vital oversight and long‑term stability.

Trustees

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the Trust. Trustees make sure the Trust is well‑run, financially secure, and delivering high‑quality education across all academies. They set the Trust’s priorities, hold leaders to account, and ensure public funds are used responsibly. Trustees work closely with the executive team to support improvement and success across our schools.

Local Governors

Local Governors play an important role in providing local knowledge and community connection for each academy. They help the Trust understand what is working well in individual schools, listen to the views of parents and carers, and support leaders by focusing on key priorities such as safeguarding, standards, and pupil wellbeing. Local Governors add valuable insight but do not replicate the strategic role of Trustees.

Together, our Members, Trustees, and Local Governors work in partnership to ensure strong leadership, clear accountability, and a positive educational experience for every child in our Trust.
